Rabo de Peixe as art gallery

“rabo de peixe” is a village at the north side of s. miguel (azores) with a strong relation to the sea and of what we can get from it. it stands for a long history on fishery and brave people that rely all their income in the uncertainty of nature. unfortunately, its also a place with severe social problems and low resources.

walk&talk is an interactive public art festival that annually transforms s.miguel in a public gallery for street art and all other forms of contemporary art. vhils is one of the portuguese artists that usually collaborates with this festival, and at “rabo de peixe” you can find his work on surprising faces of old folks carved on the walls next to  where fishermen work and children play all day.
